Terese Thagaard

Background

Terese graduated from Brunel University in 2007 with a LLB (2:1 Honours) in Business and Finance Law. She went on to complete the LPC in 2008 at Kaplan Law School in London, graduating with a Distinction. She joined Davis & Co in June 2008, and qualified as a solicitor in 2010.

Terese has worked and advised upon a range of contractual issues and disputes arising out of or relating to shipping, banking and financial services, employment, professional negligence and insolvency. She has been involved in commercial litigation and arbitration in leading multi-million dollar disputes in the banking, shipping and shipbuilding industries.

Experience and Expertise

Terese has worked on a variety of commercial and contractual disputes concerning claims ranging from US$20,000 to US$200 million. She has been involved in cases before divisions of the High Court and the Court of Appeal, and been involved in arbitrations under the rules of the LMAA.

Terese's work is often international and multi-jurisdictional and she has worked with experts in a range of disciplines including banking, marine engineering and foreign law.

She has also worked and advised upon various shipping disputes, including shipbuilding, sale and purchase and cargo damage, and has acted for shipowners, charterers and P&I clubs

Terese is a member of the Swedish Arbitration Association and Young Arbitrators Stockholm.
