Mark has advised upon a range of contractual issues and handled disputes across a broad range of industries, including matters arising out of or related to accounting, asset finance, banking and financial services, commodities, construction, derivatives, distribution agreements, employment, energy, engineering, fraud, guarantees, insolvency, insurance and reinsurance, IT, joint ventures, leasing, letters of credit, licence agreements, logistics, metallurgy, naval architecture, oil and gas, planned maintenance, power, product liability, professional negligence, property, project finance, sale and purchase, secured lending, shipping, shipbuilding, supply agreements, surveying and transport.

He is the author of the first and second editions of Bareboat Charters published by Lloyds of London Press in 2000 and 2005

He has been regularly recognised as a leading expert in Legal Business' Legal Experts publications and acknowledged as one of the World's leading litigation lawyers in Euromoney's guide to "The World's Leading Litigation Lawyers".

He has conducted cases before all divisions of the High Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Privy Council, represented clients involved in arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, LMAA, and UNCITRAL, and conducted or overseen proceedings in a number of foreign jurisdictions including Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Northern Ireland, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the USA.

Mark is a CEDR accredited mediator and a visiting lecturer at the International Maritime Law Institute in Malta.
