Background

Oliver has over 10 years experience as a solicitor, having previously worked at Curtis Davis Garrard and City of London firm Holmes Hardingham (now part of HBJ Gateley Wareing). He joined Davis & Co at its inception in 2003.

Oliver specialises in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, and has been involved in numerous leading multi-million dollar disputes in the banking, shipbuilding, offshore construction, energy and IT industries.

Experience and Expertise

Oliver has advised upon a range of contractual issues and handled disputes across a broad range of industries, including matters arising out of or related to accounting, banking, commodities, construction, energy, engineering, healthcare, hotels, insolvency, insurance, IT, letters of credit, logistics, naval architecture, oil and gas, power, product liability, sale and purchase agreements, sports and telecommunications.

He has also acted for shipowners, charterers, P&I clubs and suppliers to the marine industry in a wide variety of shipping disputes, including shipbuilding, offshore construction and sale and purchase disputes.

Much of Oliver's work is international and multi-jurisdictional in nature, and he has acted in several reported cases involving complex issues as to jurisdiction. He has worked with experts in a range of disciplines including banking, forensic accountancy, engineering, intellectual property, foreign law, IT, logistics and regulation.

He has conducted cases before all divisions of the High Court and the Court of Appeal, and represented clients involved in arbitrations under the rules of the LCIA, LMAA and EAA
